Really Good Quality, But Big
It's an incredibly high quality pad. I have had non-self inflatable pads for a while and eventually got sick of them not holding air anymore after a few uses. The material is high quality with this self inflatable pad.It is not that heavy, it is bulky however. You will have a hard time getting this into most backpacks. It's definitely not meant for backpacking and is just for car camping but if you have a larger bag or go for the smaller and lighter tapered version, then you can definitely swing this for backpacking.I love how comfortable this is compared to other blow up pads and feels like actual memory foam. It holds you up off the ground easily also and is about 2 inches thick. I would expect it to go great with a cot like in the advertisement picture, which is actually what I got this for. I expect it to keep you warm on cold nights in winter also.

If you're too old for camping on a hard pad, you've earned this one - Recommended
I'm an older gent, 6 ft tall and 220 lbs, and this pad's great for the many orthopedic issues I've earned through the years. It's not cheap, but it's thick enough with plenty of room. It keeps me warm and keeps my old bones from hurting in the morning when out with the Scouts! It packs reasonably small for the comfort it provides and inflates easy. The innovative, directional valve helps with inflation/deflation.

Love this mat!
Slept in the field as a part of my annual training requirements for the Army National Guard. I’m getting old, and this pad made my sleep much better, as compared to just sleeping on the cot.

Comfortable and insulated, but more suited for car camping than backpacking
I do think this is a great pad, but I find that there are two draw backs. The first being that it doesn't compress back down to its originally packaged size - it does fit in the bag but the bag can't be tightened all the way down like it was before use. This means if you're backpacking you'll need to strap it outside your backpack with some extra long straps or account for the extra 1-1.5L difference when repacking your backpack. The second issue I have with this pad is I've had to blow it up the two instances I've used it. Mayyyybe, it would self inflate if I let it sit for a few hours, but if you're tired and want to go to sleep quickly, you'll either need a pump or 10-15 solid breaths.

Ingenious valve system: maintains pressure.
A previous purchase of a self-inflating sleeping mat from a different manufacturer proved to be keenly disappointing from a variety of aspects, not the least of which, its inability to maintain inflated pressure once set. The inflate/deflate valve also was faulty and greatly aggravated the displeasure of experience. So abjectly useless was it, I began to prefer the unchangeable qualities of a concrete slab. Not one given to discouragement or defeat, I set about researching products in this category and settled on this model from Sea to Summit, not truly expecting anything out of the ordinary course of things. The instructions give ample forewarning of potentially having to wait an entire day before the first inflation is complete, after which, inflating and deflating is accomplished with relative ease. Having strong lungs, I adjusted the valve and exercised mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and had the thing bulging with lung-born air, within three minutes. I place it on my army cot, adjusted the pressure, and fell to sleep, leaving my analysis until the morning. First thing to note is the utter absence of back pain and no loss of air pressure. I used adjustable straps, one at each end, to fix the sleeping mat to the cot to prevent movement when tossing and turning. Overall, I fail to find at present, any fault in either manufacturing or function, and it performs its task admirably well. I am satisfied with this mat and can honestly recommend it.

It was a good product. Just too bulky and heavy for backpacking needs.
