So Much More than a Kitchen Scale - A "Nutrition" Scale.I bought this scale - not to lose weight...although it could be used for that - quite effectively, but to track my Sodium, Calories, Fats, Sugars and overall Daily "LIMITS" levels from the Food I consume.Nothing could work better. ALL the Nutrition DATA is on EVERY product LABEL...from Calories..ALL the way down to mcg. of Vitamins...Potassium..Fiber..etc. the "Killer App" of this scale is that you can SCAN the UPC..."price code" and say 90+% of the time, the EXACT product is found, and uploaded. From then on...take a week to upload your "repeat" food, and anything you add to your diet. If a product is NOT FOUND..you can "create food" and add the nutrition numbers in...it's easy. You can even load a "Taco Bell" Burrito...the nutrition facts are online...easy to find.Ok...Things to note:- You have to "ADD" products to get them in the database...BUT they are easy to DELETE...they say 'swipe right or left" Iphone or Android...but do this instead..."PUSH DOWN" on item...gives you delete.- You can Also add "MEALS"...just make a list of a meal you eat, and click on ... and "Add as a meal"...name it..and it becomes a choice...like a potato.- You can add grams, oz, ml. etc of food 2 ways..A. Just tare a bowl..weigh food, enter weight..B. "LIVE" weight....choose a food from your list...with scale ON...and weight/cal..ALL categories "fill in"...save..and it's recorded. Cool Feature Really.- You can search food by typing it in - search database (if not in your data)..or it searches your food so no scrolling.- Sort alphabetically or by "recent" most used..- bummer it doesn't keep your last search criteria.- You can add your age..height weight gender AND DIET you choose...I did DASH..and it gives you Kcal per day...Calories...- BUT..you can go to SETTINGS..and enter your Calorie limit/goal...AND Add limits to EACH category...- ie..I put in the LIMITS daily for DASH...2300 mg SODIUM...Down to 15 mcg Vitamin D..- Given all this...You can..And I do..MEET ALL your limits per day by entering Breakfast lunch dinner snacks...and as the day goes on..you can "customize" dinner..snacks etc. if you are going to go over a limit. (The one exception is SUGARS..I think this scale counts FRUIT sugars equal to added sugars in processed food IMHO)...watch for that.- Lastly...NUTRITION INFORMATION gives you a rundown of numbers vs limits...and some verbiage on what to do if you blow a limit....green is good..red is over.- Lastly lastly...lll 3 bars gives you daily, weekly, monthly histograms of calories per meal, and Carbs protein fats per day week month breakdown.It's entirely possible to enter EVERYTHING you Eat...but it takes a bit of time commitment. Even if you don't enter everything...or skip days...using it a few times correctly gives you an idea of what you are eating "Numerically".Great product...sturdy..sleek..easy to use...Get One. Purchased for my grandson to replace one that was given to me by a friend approximately 15 years ago. Nice because it’s electronic. He’s 15 and very conscientious about nutrition and ingredients. This scale also helps him with meal prep. I purchased the Zwilling scale which is really nice but you have to turn off and on for tare weight. I should have just bought 2 of these scales. My grandson really likes this scale.

I purchased the Etekcity Food Kitchen Scale to help me accurately measure food portions as part of a New Year's diet. Trying to eyeball portion sizes can be tricky, so using the weight measurements from food labels and this scale makes calorie tracking much more precise.While I don't have another scale to verify its accuracy, the weight measurements seem consistent and reliable for my needs. The scale is incredibly easy to operate with a single button for on/off and a dedicated tare function that works almost instantly.Cleaning is a breeze thanks to the stainless steel surface – it simply wipes clean. The LCD display is clear and easy to read. My only minor wish is that it was extendable, as large bowls can sometimes obstruct the view. However, for such an affordable, entry-level scale, this is a minor inconvenience, and you can find models with that feature for a slightly higher price if it's a necessity.I appreciate the automatic shut-off feature, which prevents accidental battery drain if I forget to turn it off after use. This is my first dedicated kitchen scale, so I don't have a comparison point, but I can say that this Etekcity scale does exactly what I need it to do. It provides accurate weights for my food portions and was very reasonably priced. It's a basic but effective tool that perfectly fulfills its purpose for my dietary needs.

This is a great scale with many uses. I like using it when baking things. If a recipe says use 400 grams of flour I will plop a bowl on the scale and hit the tare button then start adding flour to the bowl until I get to 400g. Then if the recipe says add 3g baking powder i will hit tare again and now I can add 3g of baking powder to bowl. Makes it easy! I also use it for logging my food. I am trying to watch weight so I will make peanut butter sandwich with 1 serving of peanut butter which is 32g. I put the bread on the scale and hit tare button then add 32g of peanut butter. My only complaint is sometimes it seems that it is not sensitive enough for very low weights. For example I was brewing tea and I needed 2-3 g of tea. I started adding tea to scale and it was not registering the weight until it was over 3g. I may upgrade to the etekcity scale that can measure in tenths of grams. As long as you don’t need to weigh very light amounts this is great scale.

Baking usually requires exact measurements and this scale is perfect for that.I can tare the weight between ingredients so I don’t have to do math beyond halving or doubling a recipe. It has imperial or metric options and a clear, bright display with an easy learning curve for use. I love that it has an auto shut off function.It’s slim for easy storage, and is very light, but can stand up to triple batch weights. It wipes clean easily. Battery life is excellent, and best of all - it doesn’t have an annoying beeping sound when the buttons are pressed.Love it!

Never thought I would use a kitchen scale - but it really does make a difference when baking cookies and cakes for the public. I absolutely love how easy it is to use. It has different settings that easy to change (lbs vs ounces - metric).And now I find myself using it after grocery shopping, when dividing hamburger into smaller portions, snacks, etc. Really love this scale. It is small enough that it fits in my cupboard easily.
