I wanted a clamp/mount while hiking but didn't want to spend $50+ for backpacking specific brands. Since my hiking involves scrambling over rocks and boulders I needed something that held the camera securely to my body rather than swinging from a neck strap. Adjusting the neck strap with just enough slack and mounting the base plate to a webbed belt I was able to securely keep my camera ready at all times. Most of the weight is supported by the belt relieving the strain on my neck but since the strap is still around my neck I have the assurance that the camera is protected. I've used it on a number of trips and it has worked exactly as I hoped it would.An added bonus is that I have a second base plate on my tripod for quick mounting.

I am not mechanically inclined so it took a few moments to figure out how to re-insert and what the latches were for (instruction manuals are usually poorly written so I am on the fence about complaining the lack of instruction manuals). What they did was helpful: arrows pointing to the lens direction at the bottom of the unit.

As my most recent Camera purchase does not have an external hand grip/battery pack as my previous camera did, the need to remove it from the oversized plate of my tripod mount to change the battery was becoming more of a bother, and with the desire for long shoots such as an eclipse having to take the plate off just to swap batteries, I needed a solution. This works perfectly for my needs.The mounting plate is similar, though not as high quality as my Manfrotto plate, for another tripod and camera mount, but it is made of metal and seems sturdy enough and is 100% compatible if I want to swap tripods.The included threaded screw let me thread it onto the larger plate with no issue and it is secure. However, it does need to be placed close to the edge to allow for the lock which does protrude about 2-3 mm below the rest of the mount (see picture) which does not pose a problem to me but may inform your purchase as the mount is not completely flat on the bottom.In conclusion, it does what I want it to do, solves a problem that has caused me frustration, and allows me to continue to use my geared tripod head with my camera with much less annoyance for a price that I just can't complain about.

I own two of these. I tried buying a third from a cheaper seller--I am never doing that again. The other seller's plate was so wrong that my OEM manfrotto (and UTEBIT) plates wouldn't fit. By contrast, the UTEBIT are a perfect fit for my OEM Manfrotto plates.And still 3x cheaper than the original Manfrotto adapter.I use this on a gimbal and on a interchangeably on a chest plate or Peak Design Capture (to hold my camera).This is important to me, since the adapter will hold my camera at 90 degrees--the camera is aiming at the floor. I have a strap for redundancy, but NEVER has this adapter ever come loose, despite my walking/running/bumping.Perfect fit, optional lock, quick release, and reliable hold. Definitely recommend.

Good fit for Veo cam 3 , the lever does not lock all the way but still pretty secure. Good price and quality.
