What's nice about this printer is that it dries almost instantly. The whole thing does have some weight to it, but isn't too heavy. Fairly easy to program, but for me I did have to read and then re-read the instructions before using. Once I was able to figure everything out, I started tested this immediately. I was able to print on a polyester tag, I then tried a piece of wood, aluminum, cardboard and then a piece of cotton fabric. The polyester tag had some seams and some of the lettering wasn't too clear but when printed on cotton fabric without that many seams, it printed just fine. I did have to wait a little extra drying time with the aluminum but still dried faster and has never smeared. With the wood, I did have some bleeding of the ink but nothing too bad. Cardboard dried the fastest but also had the clearest print but it was also the smoothest. The battery life on this lasts a long time and allow this printer to be completely portable without being tethered to a cord. I can program my name and logo, expiration dates, manufacturing dates, etc. I can even add a little logo if I want too. So many options to choose from and makes it so I can personalize really anything I sell.

I don't have any professional use for this tool, I got it mostly to see about making it easy to label and serialize gear that my astronomy club lends out which is mostly metal or plastic bodies and often round etc. I figured this would look much cleaner and be more difficult to remove or accidentally wear off than a label. This says it prints on nearly all surfaces and while I haven't tried it on them yet it seems like it should print just fine on the metal tubes of telescopes etc. I'm waiting until I feel confident that I won't mess it up before trying it on the real gear. It's not terribly complicated to figure out and after about 5 minutes of carefully looking at all of the menus etc I had my first print, but it's not 100% fool proof without a few trial runs.I do wish there was a little more of an instruction manual. It comes with a quick start guide but that's about it. My primary complaint is that they don't clarify exactly what kind of ink cartridge I can buy for replacements. I've seen some on Amazon that print with food safe ink and I think that'd be really cool to be able to use this to print on a cake/cupcake etc, but I can't tell if any of those will work/fit in this printer.The USB stick through me off a bit as well and the fact that it's orange almost made me think it might be a firmware update program etc, but no...best I can tell it's simply an empty USB stick you can use to save and load templates or images for use in the print gun. Looking around online I couldn't find any additional information about this specific device or the OS/UI installed on it.So, lack of documentation is my biggest nit, but overall it is fairly easy to use and the print quality is quite nice so I still gave it 4 stars.

Handheld printer gun, was hoping this would be easy. I am one of these people , that hates setting up new stuff, but usually figure it out . Installed the cartridge , put it on the charger , set time/date and that`s where I`m stuck. Need to watch instructions or read them a few times over. At this point, , I`m not fond of this thing , but haven`t given up .
