Great product, but 2 1/4 inch mouth is too wide for some teapots
This is a great tea infuser overall. The "wings" are wide enough to let it sit on a large mug, the holes are fine so that tea flakes don't migrate into your tea, the cap is handy, and it overall feels like a high quality product. Unfortunately the measurements shown online when I made the purchase only showed the diameter at the bottom, around 1 3/4 inches. It widens to 2 1/4 inches at the top, which was not shown in the product description. This is too wide to sit a teapot with a 2 inch opening unfortunately. I ended up ordering the KOGU 42174 Shimomura Tea Strainer instead.

Tea time.
I love this little tea infuser! Loose-leaf tea is so much more flavorful than tea bags, and this infuser steeps the tea perfectly! There are lots of tiny holes in it that prevent most tea leaf sediment from leaching out, and the holes are small enough that tea leaves don't get stuck in them, making it very easy to clean. It comes with a lid that can be inverted to act as a tray to catch the excess water from the leaves after taking the infuser out of the cup. The body of the infuser will fit most cups and mugs and has flanges on each side that can span the top of the cup. It is made of stainless steel and is very attractive. I plan on buying more of them to give as gifts to my tea-loving friends and family members!

Exactly what I wanted
If you have graduated to quality loose-leaf tea, you know a ball won't really work; the dried leaves have to open up and come into contact with more water. You get all the flavor and fragrance you're supposed to when the tea leaves can kind of move around a bit. You also use less tea, I think. This thing works beautifully for that purpose. I saw lots of competitors' products but had some concerns about quality. This appears to be well-made, doesn't look like it'll rust easily (yes, some "stainless" really isn't, depending on who made it). It's easy enough to wash / clean out. I haven't run it through the dishwasher but I don't plan to either. The silicon will come off so you can clean that separately, btw.Very happy with this.

Large size
I purchased this to brew some Sip Herbal teas that required an extra find mesh. The bowl is a bit larger than I thought it would be but still fits well in a cup. It is too large for a small teapot that holds 2 cups that has a smaller diameter lid. That was a bummer, but I just brew it in a cup. Love the lid that is handy to put the wet mesh bowl in after brewing. I also like that the bowl has two handles to hold the bowl at the top of the cup when brewing. I don't know if my tea is really extra fine or if the extra fine mesh holes are not fine enough, but some sediment is still left in the cup after brewing. This isn't a problem, though, because the you never taste pieces of the grounds. Good quality and I use it often.

Best universal tea infuser alternative
Good quality and not time consuming like most loose tea infusers to clean. Trying to limit plastic and use quality stainless for all hot products. Overall a surprisingly great alternative.

Works great
This works great especially with wider brim mugs, I am so happy I purchased this.

Simple and Functional
Finally, a cup-style steeper that fits my giant mug! I use a 20 oz mug at work with a wider 4" rim, and my old SS infuser was not wide enough to brew loose leaf tea. I have a capsule infuser, but i feel like the leaves don't expand and bloom as much, and i'd wind up with an inferior brew, or a 10 oz paper cup of tea i'd have to refill & resteep enough times per day that the BOSS noticed. I thought i was doomed to that Bag Life (TM), until i thought to look for a solution on Amazon.I like the large size of the steeping basket, the material (SS, no metallic or plastic-y taste in my tea), how easy it is to clean, and the lid that doubles as a drip tray.

New favorite
This is great for more than just tea! I bought this for multiple reasons. I needed a fine mesh strainer because the multiple other strainers I have weren’t fine enough. I love how deep this reaches into the cups as well. The little lid helps keep the tea hot and steep just right. It’s easy to clean out with a toothbrush kept for kitchen items specifically. I also use this to strain the pulp from fresh made juices. I triple strain what my juicer misses and this is perfect for the super fine particles. Also note that the lid can be turned upside down and used to hold the strainer when you take it out of the cup to drink it. I drink tea twice a day and I am SO happy with this!I might also use this to strain some oil infusions for small batch homemade topicals.
