Updated: Great Little Travel Iron, Just not for my Quilting!
UPDATE: The third one was fine. Yay! But not great for what I needed it for. I really wanted to love this little iron, and as you can see from my review, I tried so hard to get a decent one from Amazon. But I finally got one, so here goes; The iron itself is fabulous and steams really well and irons just as good as any regular-sized iron. It has a great amount of steam holes and it’s super lightweight. But what made me return it was that I actually wanted it for quilting, and I regularly use a starch spray with my fabrics, and this was leaving a slight residue on the base of the iron, which meant I’d have to clean the base every time I used it. So I decided a ceramic sole plate iron would be a better choice. This might not seem a big deal when you’re just ironing clothes while on vacation or away on a business trip, and as basic ironing goes, it really isn’t as you’re probably not going to use a finishing spray and have to clean it constantly, and that’s why I’ve given it 5 stars because it’s fantastic, but when you’re quilting and using it as much as I am, it really is a problem. The only other niggle I had was, there wasn’t any light on it to show the iron was “live” or had reached temperature. But when you’re traveling, this isn’t a deal breaker. It’s super light and folds down beautifully. I also really like the dual voltage aspect, and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a travel iron. As for me and my quilting iron quest, my search goes on.I ordered the first iron, which had a quite a deep scratch on the sole plate, so I requested a replacement. When it arrived, it was obvious that it had been used previously, as the sole plate had fine scratches all over it like it had been cleaned with a scourer. I’ve again, returned this second one and I’ve ordered another one hoping that the third time’s a charm!

One persons con is another’s pro
When I was shopping for the perfect iron I read 100’s of reviews. I have a regular size Rowenta and I love it but read several reviews that were not so favorable on the small travel iron with the biggest complaint being there was not an auto shut off. One person even said “shame on you Rowenta” but that is the biggest PRO for me so I say THANK YOU Rowenta. I quilt and the most aggravating thing for a quilter is to need the iron and it has automatically shut off. This iron is perfect in every way, lots of steam, gets really hot, and is the perfect size for piecing. The no on/off button was an easy fix with a cheap switch that the cord plugs into. The only weak point in my opinion is possibly the handle. I can see where if not careful it could break.

Fantastic Steam Iron
my opinion, the truth, no pictures, use your imagination.1. Skeptical because of review displaying a broken wan (handle) and the Cord being (looked to me like) torn out of the unit. The review, the handle would not stay upright, hmm, why is the cord torn out. And all the time the review was the unit broke itself.2. Received my unit today. Delivered by USPS, the package/parcel was banged up/dented. but once opened the unit was intact. Small prayer of thanks.3. The handle. I lifted mine up, robust click and it stayed up. I put a small amount on the handle it would not go down. I eyed the unit and at the back of the unit and oversized button that reflected the word "PUSH" i did and then the hand dropped to the down position.4. It then dawned to me the review about the broken handle was the cause of a "Heavy Handed" I don't read instructions person. A pile of pressure and snap the plastic hinge breaks, the handle will not stay in the upright position, and the unit was then flung through the air by holding the cord which became detached.5. A bad review was written, but the true explanation of events was not.6. I took my unit to the ironing board, plugged it in filled with 60ml of "DISTILLED" water (bad water at my home). The Unit heated properly, produced steam properly and I did my micro ironing (advent calendar, all pieces hand cut, ironed, and sewn) and the unit ironed perfectly.7. This iron is a KEEPER. Also, it was sold by Amazon, so therefore-my Prime Membership resulted in a two day delivery. (I'm surprised it arrived on time.)8. There you have it. Treat your stuff nicely, follow instructions and your merchandise will last a long time.

Replacement same as the returned-still a great little iron
This is a great little steam iron with one problem. The shot-of-steam button doesn’t function. Well, that’s not entirely true. It works maybe twice if you over fill the water tank. However, if you over fill the tank and press the shot-of-steam button water shoots out of the seal. This is the second iron I’ve gotten - returned the first for the same reason. But I’m keeping this one because even with that nonworking button it’s still a great steam machine. So I won’t have vertical steaming, doesn’t matter to me. I love its size and how hard it works. I like to quilt at home or anywhere and I like crisp folds and flat seams so this iron is just the ticket. I hope you others have better luck with the steam button. Happy pressing!

Works great, perfect size for a dorm-sized room.
Needed something small I could keep in my room at home (around the size of a dorm room). Easy to put away, the handle locks into place easily and the button on the bottom to fold it back in isn’t easy to accidentally push so no fear of your hand flying down. It’s a great size, but due to the size the water container (the handle) isn’t super big and will probably need to be refilled often if you steam a lot of clothing. Heats up quick but takes a while to cool down (not a big deal for me, I just put it in the corner until it’s cool). The cord is a good length and easy to plug into the wall. It had a bit of a funky smell the first time I used it but I am assuming thats because, well, it was the first time I used it. Knocked out the wrinkles in my shirt real easy.
